The 2025 Chevrolet Equinox EV is a knockout, with sleek, futuristic lines, a distinctive front grille, and vibrant colors.  It’s not just looks, though, that make this five-seater, family-friendly SUV the top choice for more and more drivers. Let’s look at some of the many reasons it’s such a standout.

Battery Power

The Equinox EV is powered by an 85 kWh Ultium lithium-ion battery made with nickel-manganese-cobalt chemistry. Ultium batteries are designed by GM and are based on an innovative pouch design. Their modular design allows the pouches to be stacked vertically or horizontally inside the battery for maximum energy storage and efficiency.

FWD is standard, with the battery powering a single permanent magnet motor connected to the front axle. This combination produces 220 hp and 243 lb-ft of torque and gives you a range of 319 miles on a fully charged battery. AWD is available as an option on the LT2 and RS trims and features dual permanent magnet motors, with one motor connected to each axle. It supplies 300 hp and 355 lb-ft of torque with a range of 207 miles.

Super Cruise

What’s better than driving the Equinox EV? Being driven by it while you enjoy the view of the road ahead. This feature is available on the LT2 and RS trim levels and allows you to drive hands-free on over 750,000 miles of road in the US and Canada. To activate it, you first need to be on a Super Cruise-compatible road, and Active Cruise Control must be switched on.

A white Super Cruise icon will appear on the screen, which changes to green when the system is active. It uses LiDAR mapping, GPS positioning, radar, and cameras to keep your vehicle positioned in its lane and following a set distance from the vehicle ahead. It will accelerate to maintain its preset speed and brake automatically if the vehicle ahead stops. It also recommends lane changes when necessary, which you confirm by glancing at the corresponding side mirror.

Chevy Safety Assist

Chevy prioritizes the safety of you and your passengers, which is why every Equinox EV includes Chevy Safety Assist. This suite of safety systems acts like additional eyes watching the area around you and alerting you to potential danger you may not have seen. They use radar, cameras, and sensors to detect hazards, and they provide visual and audible warnings so you can prevent an accident.

Additional safety systems, including an HD Rear Vision Camera, are standard or available depending on your trim choice.

The best way to experience everything the Equinox EV has to offer is to test drive it. Visit us today at AutoNation Chevrolet Doral in Miami, FL.
